Created for the XV edition of the prestigious Italian Jewellery Exhibition called “Precious Desires” and dedicated to the “ARA PACIS AUGUSTAE” Altar in Rome, commissioned by the Roman Senate in 13 BC to honour Emperor Augustus and his willingness to promote peace in the Empire. This Snake ring is made using the same antique technique used back in the day as “lost wax“, and kiln-melted enamel.
Sentences such as “PAX ROMANA” or “PAX PERPETUA” were minted on gold and silver coins of that Age and the statement “PAX SUPRA LEGES” was the sentence proclaimed by Augustus Himself in the Senate when the actual Altar was being laid close to the Tiber River in Rome.
