The eight points of the Maltese cross denote the eight obligations or aspirations of the knights, namely “to live in truth, have faith, repent one’s sins, give proof of humility, love justice, be merciful, be sincere and wholehearted, and to endure persecution”.
This Piece of High Jewellery has been created to commemorate one of the greatest Master Jeweller of last century – Fulco di Verdura (1899-1978), and his inspiring enamel works designed with Coco Chanel, which influence is still present as a beacon in my mind.
