Raphael Sanzio da Urbino was regarded as the most harmonious Artist of the Renaissance period. He was admired for perfectly capturing the elegance of human bodies and surrounding spaces in his paintings. Summoned by Pope Julius the Second, Raphael was chosen to fresco the famous “Raphael Rooms”. “The touch of his brush is guided by God, ” said the Pope about Raphel. Together with the Sistine Chapel of Michelangelo, Raphael’s Rooms mark the highest Renaissance splendour in Italy.
